Chinese Immersion

Target Students:
  • Students with a Chinese-speaking background or prior exposure who are ready to learn primarily through Chinese.
  • Students who can follow classroom routines in Chinese and aim to achieve native-level proficiency through immersive learning.
  • Age Range: 4 Years 9 Months and up – Grade 6.

Teaching Method:
  • Students are placed by Chinese proficiency level, ensuring each child is matched with the most appropriate learning level.
  • Flexible and adjustable placement, allowing students to move levels as their skills develop.
  • Dedicated Chinese homework/study sessions to reinforce learning outcomes and ensure skill consolidation.
  • Chinese history and culture integrated into daily instruction, supporting language learning through cultural context.
  • Fully conducted in Chinese, with minimal English used only when absolutely necessary.

  • Achieve native-level Chinese proficiency.
  • Develop advanced listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Use Chinese accurately and confidently across academic and real-life contexts.

  • 《中文》教材（暨南大学编写）
            - Designed specifically for heritage and immersion learners, particularly overseas Chinese students.
            - Intentionally structured to support intensive, five-day-per-week Chinese instruction.
            - Scientifically structured literacy progression with a well-balanced character load: 
                3 years (6 volumes): ~1,000 commonly used characters;  6 years (12 volumes): ~2,000 commonly used characters.
            - Integrates language learning with Chinese culture and history.
            - Widely adopted and academically recognized for long-term Chinese proficiency development.
